When Wendy first contacted me I could hear the excitement in her voice, she was so ready to be married and her heart was just contagious! Later on I found out that Wendy and one of my other brides were sorority sisters and they were both getting married the same month….and they are both YLE Brides! Seriously, how cool is that!!! It’s such a small world but I’m so thankful to have someone so sweet become a YLE Bride.
How did you two meet:
We were set up on a blind date, we were both so nervous meeting each other for the first time, but we hit it off the moment we saw each other. We talked for hours that evening and from there our romance blossomed.
When did you know he was going to be your husband, did he know before you:
From the start we both knew that this relationship was different from anything we had ever experienced. He says he knew from the start that I was going to be his wife. I knew the weekend we celebrated our first anniversary. We had just arrived to Key West when I received an e-mail that I had to be in Orlando the following morning to take an exam to fulfill a requirement for grad school. He drove back 9 hours through the night so I could make it back in time for the exam that morning. He never once got upset or angry and was nothing but supportive and encouraging the entire ride back, telling me that we were going to ace that exam. It blew me away and brought me to tears. The amount of love and support that he showed to me that day was amazing. I knew then that this was my husband and the future father of my children.
How did he propose, when, where:
He proposed on June 24th. I actually foiled his original plans for a proposal, lol!! He had plans to take me out to a fancy dinner when I got home from class. I came home from class very late and didn’t feel too well so I told him that I wasn’t up for dinner that night, he had to think fast and went to get us some takeout. He hid the ring in the bag and told me that he heard that there were surprises hidden away in the bag. I was very confused and thought he was just being silly, when I looked in the bag and saw the box, it still didn’t hit me, I thought it might be a pair of nice earrings since our anniversary was coming up soon. When I looked up at him he was down on one knee, I started to panic, he grabbed the box and told me he loved me with everything he had and wanted to start I lives together. Everything was a blur through all the tears; he completely caught me off guard. He told me that he wanted us to start our second year together as an engaged couple. We went down to Key West the next day to celebrate. It was one of the best weekends of my life!!
