Weekly Wrap Up

Orlando Wedding CoordinatorHey All!

I’m so happy to be doing this weekly wrap up as it will be my last before I am out on maternity leave. I am expecting a baby very soon and I will be going on maternity leave beginning on Monday, June 29th and will return on Monday, August 3rd. Enough of that and now onto last week’s events!

Last week was a wedding week so in tradition it consisted of a lot of last minute details and phone calls. Saturday’s wedding was a long time coming as the Bride’s mom hired us last year. I’ve been working with her for close to a year prepping for Saturday and all of our hard work paid off. Some things were easier than others but like always things turned out excellent. As a coordinator I always remind my clients that I will make sure everything goes smoothly, whether it’s according to plan or not. We had rehearsal on Thursday and we were able to finalize everything. Unfortunately the forecast was saying rain which we were worried would affect the pictures but God was looking out. Our amazing photographer was able to do all the pictures before the ceremony and we did not even have to worry about outdoor pictures in the rain (she did take an amazing shot of the couple with the rainbow…be on the lookout for when those pro pics are posted on the blog. The wedding was at Ocoee Lakeshore which is a beautiful fairly new venue. One of my favorite parts of the wedding, besides the grooms amazing grandparents dance moves was the cookie bar, which is a Pittsburg tradition. I can’t say I enjoyed the couples entrance song as it was the FSU fight song LOL…Go Gators! The wedding was full of personal touches and was a DIY wedding gone RIGHT! It was family oriented and focused and I loved that aspect. Here’s a couple phone shots for you all to enjoy!

I’ll stop by and post a weekly wrap up every now and then while I’m on leave but until then enjoy the Real Wedding posts that are coming up!

Weekly Wrap Up

Orlando Wedding Coordinator
Oh yes I know I am days late with this post but have mercy on me things have been go go go! Things are winding down since my maternity leave is coming up, or shall I say they are winding up! We have 2 weddings this month where we are the wedding coordinators, with our last one next weekend.

Last week we had a final venue walk through for our last June wedding next weekend. It always helps to meet with the bride to get her final vision and thoughts. Usually our final meetings result in a lot of changes and we have to go through the workbook. The wedding workbook is 11 pages of important info for the day of the wedding. It has discussion items from the caterers arrival time to details on the sand ceremony. This workbook keeps the couple and I on the same page and also reminds us to discuss even the smallest detail.

Our wedding this past weekend was amazing! There was so many small details to make it happen and so many last minute changes that on the day of really did not matter. I had an amazing team to help put it all together and worked with some of the best vendors! I am really excited to see the pro pics when they come back. This was a wedding for the books down to the bride cutting her dress, yes literally cutting it with scissors and turning it into a short dress! I love when I am able to connect with the families and friends at the wedding and that is exactly what happened, it was such a great group. {The phone shots below does it no justice!}

Love Tips: Wedding Day Timelines

Wedding TimelineWe’ve all heard the phrase “time is of the essence” right? Well when it comes to your wedding day that phrase is very true! Planning a wedding begins with sticking to a timeline, making sure you’ve booked various vendors, sent out invitations and created a table layout for the venue. But what about the timeline for the day of the wedding? A lot of couples forget this important detail (that’s why if you’re in Orlando (or Central Florida) you hire us!) and are stuck on their wedding day not knowing what is next or how much time they have for each activity.

Creating a timeline includes making it realistic and actually sticking to it because what good is it if you don’t follow it. With all of our packages we create a detailed timeline for our couples and the vendors. It is important for the couple and the vendors to know where they should be and what they should be doing. We are sticklers about sticking to the timeline (of course there are certain times when things are out of our control…that’s the part about being realistic!) because time is of the essence.

When you book a venue you usually choose a block time for your wedding, whether it;s 4 or 6 hours. As your planner or coordinator we have to make sure you get the full wedding experience in these hours. We have to account for the ceremony, bridal party/family pictures, cocktail hour, toasts and the final dance, to name a few. We also have to be mindful of events running over and being able to have wiggle room. As basic as it may sound timelines can be very time consuming to create and need to be created by someone who has experience in what should be included.

If you are unable to hire a planner or coordinator consider hiring them to create your timeline as an a la carte service! I promise you that you will not regret it and your vendors will be thankful for it!
