Say Hello to a YLE Bride…Stephanie

Orlando Wedding Planner

I am so happy to introduce a new YLE bride, Stephanie! I can’t wait to work with these two and not just because David is a Gator fan (!!!!).

How did you two meet:

We met through a mutual friend when I was 13 and he was 14. We
stayed friends through high school and then lost touch when I went to college. We reconnected in 2013 and the rest is history.

When did you know he was going to be your husband, did he know before you:

He says he knew before I did so I’ll let him have that one lol but I think I knew when he dedicated Bryan Adams’ “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman” to me one night. I heard the line about him seeing the unborn children in her eyes and I realized that I wanted that, that I loved that he saw that same future with me.

How did he propose, when, where:

He proposed on August 26th in Puerto Rico. We went on a hike down El Yunque, a rain forest in Puerto Rico, to La Mina Falls, a waterfall where visitors can swim. He told my sister to take pictures of us before we got wet so we stood in front of the falls and posed. I started to walk away and he says “wait one more” and starts to kneel as he reaches in his pocket. I saw what he was doing. I knew what he was doing. But I panicked slightly and asked him what he was doing lol. I don’t think I ever really SAID yes but my tears were flowing (heavily) and I nodded and hugged him. I was taken by complete surprise. As were my sister and niece who were screaming and crying too lol. I want to add that he actually asked my dad for my hand. Which happens like never nowadays. He took him out to lunch and asked him. It was a big deal for me that he did that. He was the only one that knew about it. When I called and told my mom she freaked out and dropped her phone and started crying. They did good at keeping it secret.

Describe your wedding in three words:

Love, Family/Friends, Fun. I want our day to be about those 3 things. It sounds generic but we both love each other and our families and having fun. And as much as it is our day, our families/friends have played a huge part in our relationship and in who we are. We want traditions and the romanticism of it all with fun details about us.

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day:

I have to pick one thing?! Probably seeing the looks on people’s faces. From my parents’ first glance at me in my dress, to him seeing me walk down the aisle, to our closest friends seeing that we’ve made it. Just being surrounded by love.

What do you two do in your free time:

We love movies and music and are frequent AMC goers as well as concert events. We try to spend as much time as possible with our 2 year American Pitbull Terrier Stark (named after Lord Eddard Stark from Game of Thrones, as in his registered name is Lord Eddard Stark lol). Football is a HUGE deal for us. From arguing about Seminoles v. Gators to watching our NFL teams play. And spend time with each other. We love eating at new
restaurants and seeing what our city has to offer. He was born and raised in Orlando and I’ve been here since I was 6 but we love discovering new things.

Hi y’all –

Last week was a crazy busy week but as always I try and fit in some fun! One of my favorite things was being able to attend my local TuesdaysTogether! I have never been an extrovert so going to a networking event alone was terrifying BUT I had a great time! I know it’s crazy that I’m a wedding planner meeting all these couples and I’m very introverted but it’s so true. One of my goals this year was to get out of my comfort zone and get out there and network.

Rising Tide

TuesdaysTogether was started to promote community over competition which is missing a lot in the world of event planning. I was able to meet and mingle with fellow wedding planners, photographer and make up artists. It was a non networky (yes I made that word up!) network event. I can’t wait to see all the ladies and gents again next month! I have been needing head shots and I am so elated that our next meeting is a head shot party, whoop whoop! I can’t even tell you how much I’m paying because it’s really nothing, so thankful for Amalie for putting it all together!

As always I had vendor meetings fill up my schedule because I have 5 weddings for October, yes 5. I have an event every weekend and I’m beyond happy for that! I love the busyness that comes along with being a wedding planner…my other favorite part is speaking with new potential YLE couples. This week I had the opportunity to speak with two couples for two totally different reasons. One of my potential couples I really believe we will mesh well! She is getting married next year October (I’m telling you it’s a popular month) and even though she’s a Seminole her future husband is a Gator lol…I love my Gators! My other couple I had a consult with is planning a destination 40th birthday down here in Orlando and they want a planner, I’m so excited about their color combo and the FOOD!!

Family wise this week was hard because I was out and about a lot and didn’t get to spend a lot of time with them. To make up for it all we went to Sea World yesterday. I actually have annual passes and I haven’t gone a single time, SMH don’t judge me! Yesterday was so HOT and we only lasted an hour. Next time around I will plan better and check the show times. We weren’t able to see any shows and really felt like there was nothing for my daughter to do. In the end we still had fun and ended up at Bento’s for some sushi (I love my sushi!) so we ended the weekend on a good note.

This week I am living out my dream because it is my two year anniversary since I made Young Love Events official. I have been an Orlando Wedding Coordinator for 2 years and I’ve had the pleasure of working with 28 brides from everywhere. It has been amazing how many destinations brides I’ve been able to work with from California, Maryland and even England! Corporate event planning was so different and I’ve loved every minute of it!

Well guys I will chat with you all on Wednesday for a Wedding Wednesdays post!

Be sure to check in on our Instagram for all of our celebrating this week! @youngloveevents #yleturns2

Hi y’all!!

I’m so happy to be back! I know the blog has been quiet but I just couldn’t see myself hiring someone to keep the blog updated. I’m back in the swing of things and busy as a bee.

This week I was glad to be back at work and enjoying my YLE couples. I had two consultations this week with my current YLE brides. Funny thing is they are both getting married at the same location and have the same background. I love my first meetings with brides on what they’re wanting for their wedding and how I can help them. Every time I meet a new couple I remember why I started. The planning process is not just about the big day, educating my couples is important also. Most couples have never been married before, or had a wedding, so a lot of the information I teach them is new. I am also constantly reminding them that the marriage after the wedding is the most important thing at the end of the day.modern calligraphy orlando

This weekend I have also had the joy to take a class on calligraphy. Jessa from Flax and Wool Designs hosted a modern calligraphy workshop and it was amazing! I was grateful that I had the opportunity to snag a space and boy was it amazing. I went in thinking I was be terrible and I wasn’t amazing BUT I did good. The techniques Jessa taught and her hands on approach made it so much easier. She was the sweetest and even did my logo – and name…and let’s face it so many charge over $100 for this. I also got to meet some amazing ladies (some I’ve met before at The Big Fake Wedding and #meetandmake with Sarah Hearts). One of those ladies told us about a cool app that lets you make your writings into digital products, super cool! The class was really great and I can’t wait for the next ones Jessa offers, you should join me too!
