Happy Anniversary Young Love Events

Yes! Today is Young Love Events official anniversary. It was just a year ago that we decided to go big and start Young Love Events. I have been planning events for years but my brother planted the seed that I should actually make it into a business. Since he said it I have not looked back. So much has happened in this past year and I’ve been blessed to meet and interact with so many amazing couples, families and friends. I have learned so much about the business side of things and I am so thankful to those that have deposited into Young Love Events over this year. The encouragement I have received has been amazing and I’m grateful that I have amazing women in my corner always pushing me and cheering me on! My family has been my number one support and been there assisting me from the beginning, thank you. If you or anyone you know is looking for an Orlando Wedding Coordinator don’t forget us, Young Love Events!

With Thanksgiving around the corner I find myself thinking about how we forget to give thanks. I am so thankful and no words can describe the overwhelming emotions I feel today because I know without the support I would not be here. We’ve had an amazing first year and I am so ready for year 2, 3, 10, 15, 30! God has been amazing and we will continue to give him the praise for the favor he’s blessed us with at Young Love Events.

I thought this could be a fun post to let you all learn more about me, Nichole, the brains behind the brand and about Young Love Events. Enjoy a sneak peek into my life!

1. What is the most important thing to you?

My cell phone…haha no I’m kidding! My family. I love my family so very much and have been blessed with a great one on all sides, my dad, my mom and my husbands. A lot of people don’t consider they’re extended family when they reference family but I do. I love my husband and daughter more than anything but I love my extended family all the way down to my second cousin too! I’m very family oriented and usually spend the free weekends hanging around with them. I’ve made it a point to have my daughter and I visit my mother every Friday. A mother – daughter – granddaughter relationship is so valuable and I’m glad I get to share that time with them.

2. Why did you choose the name Young Love Events?

God obviously knew something I did not…that I would marry a Young because my maiden name would not have worked! When my husband and I got married everything for my wedding was referred to as Young Love so it was only fitting that my new love would be called Young Love Events.

3. What does a typical day for you look like?

Every morning I wake up and pray, for real. As the day goes on I drop my daughter off by my aunt who watches her and I get to work. I’m very organized and list all of my to-do’s in the morning. My day is full of emails, calls and more emails and calls. Step by step I work through those to-do’s while mastering interruptions that come along. I bought a Day Designer for 2015 and I’m excited to see how it will help keep me even more organized. I’ve been trying to stop working by 6 and spend the rest of the evening with my husband and daughter…I’m still working on that! At home in the evening I’m either on the couch watching football or having a dance party with my daughter.

4. What is one thing you want to do in 2015?

I can’t say it’s something I want to do since I WILL be doing it but attend Wedding MBA. Wedding MBA is the conference of all conferences for wedding planners. It will be in September next year and I’ve already paid my registration!
Oh how could I forget, I turn 30 next year! I can’t wait for that it’s like I’ll be a real adult haha. I’ve already started planning my party to celebrate, I’m competing with all these Brides!

5. What do you love most about Young Love Events?

The people I meet! I have met so many great people and it’s been so fun! I’m really not a social person so YLE has helped me jump out the box. I’ve developed close relationships with some of my brides and love that I connect with people on a deeper level.

Well folks that’s it! Thank you again for all of your support and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and like us on Facebook. We will be doing a giveaway today to celebrate so make sure you’re following us! Here’s just a couple shots from our weddings this past year, thank you again!

2 Easy Steps to Change Your Last Name!

Image: Pinterest

I’m sure you have all heard the stories on the dreadful process of changing your last name once you become a Mrs. I’m here to tell you that it does not have to be dreadful and you can change it in TWO easy steps!

As a wedding coordinator I always get brides wanting to know how they can change their last name (I know this can’t just be an Orlando Wedding Coordinator thing!). My biggest piece of advice is do NOT buy a name change kit or pay someone online to do it because it won’t work. Changing your last name is a task (that you must complete in person) but with these helpful steps it will be much easier! The worst part is waiting for your number to be called in the offices, I promise! Side note: If you are planning on going on a honeymoon PLEASE wait until you return to change your name. Avoid the hassle of having your license and passport not much…unless your honeymoon is months later!

Step 1: Visit the Social Security website to download the application and get a checklist of what you need to bring. Visit this link for all the information. You cannot change your name on your social security card online – you must either mail your documents in (you’re taking a chance!) or go in person.  Here is the link to find a social security office in your area.

Step 2: The Social Security office will give you paperwork validating your name change.  You have the option of taking this paperwork to the driver’s license office or waiting a couple days for your new Social Security card to come in the mail. When you are ready to go to the driver’s license office make sure you have all of the necessary documents. Here is a link that will let you know what you need to take.

The hard part is over! Don’t forget to change your name with your HR department, bank, insurance companies, loan lenders and of course on your passport!

Congrats on your NEW LAST NAME!

Wedding Day Survival Tips for Introverts

“I hate big weddings with everybody staring. I’d like to get married on a weekday while everybody’s at work.” Julia Roberts said it best in Runaway Bride. Everyone getting married does not to be the main attraction, some people are quite content with not having a sweetheart table and not having the theatrical first dance with all the attention focused on them, this is where a Wedding Day Survival Guide for Introverts comes into play.

Wedding Day Survival Tips for Introverts

-Only invite your closest family and friends – why have to deal with people you don’t really know and don’t care to speak with?

-Hire a Coordinator – that way you can delegate and don’t have to think about anything besides yourself and your partner

-Focus on your significant other while the Officiant is speaking – don’t be distracted by all the cameras flashing and clapping

-Don’t walk down the aisle, find a shorter route to the Officiant and your partner – it’s your wedding you create the rules!

-Keep the ceremony short and sweet – why draw it out?

-Don’t do a flashy entrance, enter your reception with your guests instead

-Skip the sweetheart table – you can sit with your bridal party and you can even have the DJ booth be the center of attention

-Have you DJ cut down your first dance song – who wants to be out there for 4 whole minutes anyway?

-Have a shorter reception – you don’t have to throw the bouquet or deal with a garter!

-ELOPE (cough cough: we do Pop Up Weddings)!
